Adidas is a Germany based sportswear company, widely known for their iconic sneakers. They also manufacture clothing and accessories.

In 1924, the business was founded by Adolph Dassler and his brother Rudolph under the original name of Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik (Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory).

Fun Fact – In the 1936 Olympics, famous United States Sprinter Jesse Ownes was convinced by Dessler to wear the company’s newly developed spiked running shoes.

In 1949, after a falling out between the brothers, they decided to part ways. Adolph went on to found Adidas, while Rudolph opened rival company Puma.

Currently, Adidas produces all types of products pertaining to sports, from providing the clothing and equipment for all the teams in Major League Soccer, to supplying Olympic gymnastic wear for Team USA.

Adidas has also come to be wildly popular in the realm of streetwear, often seen being worn by musicians as well as celebrities. In 2015, Adidas and rapper, designer and entrepreneur Kanye West began the iconic collaboration known as Yeezy. Immensely popular, and released in limited ‘drops’ Yeezy’s became an instant status symbol.
