Emilio Pucci was born in 1914 into an aristocratic family from Florence, Italy. His education was quite varied; he studied agriculture, gained a MA in Social Science, and earned a Doctorate in Political Science. Pucci began his fashion career designing skiwear, and a photographer for Harper’s Bazaar noticed his creations and thus Pucci began his rise to fame. Pucci then branched out into creating the first one piece ski suit, swimwear, ready to wear and scarves. Today Pucci is best known for their bold, bright, and geometric use of color in their styles. Jackie Kennedy, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, and Madonna all have been big fans of the Pucci brand.
